Fiona Hartung M. Eng.
Scientific assistant
Fiona Hartung studied from 2017 to 2020 at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Bocholt in the bachelor's program Biomimetics. For her bachelor's thesis, she was employed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology in Aachen and gained initial experience working with lasers in the field of bioprinting.
Ms. Hartung successfully completed her master's degree in Medical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Ansbach in December 2022. She wrote her master's thesis on "Investigation into the substitution of conventional laser cutting processes by using ultra-short pulse laser in the manufacture of vascular implants" at Cortronik GmbH in Rostock.
Since April 2023, Ms. Hartung has been working as a scientific assistant at the LFM of the University of Rostock in the project "Laser-structured glass surface for implant-supported crown bodies for dental application". The aim is to generate anti-adhesive properties and optimized hard and soft tissue attachment of the solder glass surface by surface structuring using ultra-short laser pulses.
