Carla Maximiliane Niendorf studied Biomedical engineering at the University Rostock from 2019 to 2025. During her studies, Ms. Niendorf worked as a student assistant at the Institute for Biomedical Engineering in Rostock and at the Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Engineering IGP in the “Adhesive Bonding Technology” working group. She completed her studies in November 2025 with a master's thesis on “Geometric optimization of cardiac support systems to reduce blood damage.”

Ms. Niendorf has been employed as a research assistant at the Chair of Microfluidics since January 1, 2026. She works in the “ELAINE” collaborative research center, where she focuses on solutions for treating osteochondral defects using tissue engineering and electrical stimulation.
