Dipl.-Ing. Philip Tempel

Philip Tempel graduated 2014 his studying Master of Mechanical Engineering with a focus on turbomachinery, fluid mechanics and thermal processes.
Subsequently, Philip worked for ca. 3 years in the BMBF-funded project BeMobil (regain mobility) in the subproject C1 (metrology-based gait optimization of transfemoral amputees) at Rehabtech Research Lab GmbH in Berlin. The working group dealt with the mobilization of gait analysis by portable sensors. The kinematics were solved by inertial sensors (mobile) instead of marker-based tracking (stationary) and kinetics instead of force plates (stationary) by a 6 DOF force and moment sensor (mobile) that can be integrated into the prosthesis. The sensors and algorithms were developed, validated on gait analysis and prosthesis component test benches and subsequently evaluated on probands in comparison to the gold standard (stationary gait analysis). Philips tasks in the research network related to the improvement of software and hardware elements at various test benches. His responsibilities included the following areas: construction, calibration, maintenance and processing, development of test scenarios and validation.
In 2018, Philip started at the Fraunhofer IZI in Rostock as a scientist and worked on issues related to the blood purification process.
Since March 2019 Philip has been working at the Chair of Microfluidics at the University of Rostock.
His area of responsibility includes the field of additive manufacturing, in particular the CEM (composite extrusion modeling) process, which was developed at the department.
