Yasamin Pesaran Afsharian completed her master’s in chemical engineering-biotechnology in 2017, focusing on membrane technology in pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, she collaborated with the deputy of the Food and Drug Administration, West Azerbaijan, Iran, as a technical manager for about 4 years. 

From 2021 to 2025, Yasamin worked on biomaterial design for bone regeneration in type 2 diabetes at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, Iran. She was also collaborating as a co-supervisor at the Department of Materials Engineering, Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, Iran. 

In February 2025, Yasamin was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran to conduct a research study at the University of Rostock. Since June 2025, she has been working as a research associate at the Chair of Microfluidics, University of Rostock. 

Her current research focuses on the development of zirconia-based dental implants within a ZIM project. In addition, she is an associate member of the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) ELAINE and contributes to project B01, where she supports the development of piezoelectric ceramic-based structures for bone regeneration.
