Erik Sebastian Schmidt M.Sc.
Scientific assistant

Erik Sebastian Schmidt studied mechanical engineering with specializations in production technology and product development at the University of Rostock. As a student assistant at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Large Structures in Production Engineering and at the Chair of Microfluidics of the University of Rostock he was able to gain first experiences in scientific work. He graduated in 2018 with a master thesis on the subject “further development of a microstereolithographic system with incorporated inkjet technology”.
Subsequently, Mr. Schmidt worked for the RST Rostock System-Technik GmbH where he was involved in the development of galleys and bespoke bar modules for the Airbus A350XWB programme.
As of December 2019, he is a scientific assistant at the chair of microfluidics at the university of Rostock. Currently, he is working in the field of additive manufacturing on the project development of a procedure for the cost-efficient manufacturing of copper and tool steel components with the CEM process using a ceramic separation layer between component and support structure.
