Selective Electron Beam Melting
The Electron Beam Melting (EBM) System A1 (ARCAM, Sweden) is suitable for the fabrication of metallic models directly from CAD data. This system uses a powerful electron beam for generating a three-dimensional structure layer by layer in which a metal powder is melted selectively. With the use of titanium alloys, the technique is particularly suitable for the preparation of customized implants.
