Florian Neukirch M.Sc.

Scientific assistant

Florian Neukirch studied industrial engineering at the University of Rostock, specializing in mechanical engineering. He wrote his bachelor's thesis in 2015 in the Absorbable Metal Scaffolds department of Cortronik GmbH with the topic "Development of an edge segment of a balloon-expandable stent with improved crimpability under consideration of existing boundary conditions".

Mr. Neukirch continued his studies at the TU Berlin. Along the way, he worked as a student trainee in the R&D department of the medical device company bess pro GmbH. In this company, he successfully completed his studies in 2019 with a master's thesis on "Development of a process for the polymer coating of metal stents using electrospinning". Subsequently, he was employed as a product developer and dealt with the development of an in-house coating process of nitinol stents for series production and the design and manufacture of injection molds using 3D printing for the production of patient-specific silicone stents.

Mr. Neukirch returned to Rostock in 2021 and initially worked as a development engineer at ATI Küste GmbH. Here he supported regional companies with the application and implementation of research and development projects.

Since February 2023, Mr. Neukirch has been working as a research associate at the Chair of Microfluidics in the joint project Actiheal.
