Custom-made vitalized implants for the reconstruction of extensive bone defects in maxillofacial surgery

Within the scope of the project, custom-made, cell-seeded scaffolds are developed for the treatment of large bone defects. Our research focuses on the improvement of the tissue engineering methods for the cultivation of big individualized scaffolds as well as their mechanical optimization. The study should pioneer the application of custom-made implants in the fields of oral-, pine- and facial surgery.
