Development of a novel point-of-care diagnostics product for the detection of disease specific biomarkers
Project : Flow-optimized design of the diagnostics product
The aim of this research project is to develop a novel, inexpensive, fast, simple and user-friendly point-of-care (POC ) -diagnostics product that can quantitatively detect up to 6 disease-specific biomarkers from the patient's blood. The degree of innovation in this new test system is both a completely fluidmechanical constructed and yet inexpensive system, as well as the use of new, disease-relevant biomarkers and the related establishment of a new biochemical method. Fluid technology and microfluidics has the technical expertise in fluidics and the necessary resources for complex numerical flow simulation and experimental studies of the flow processes in the product package for a flow-optimized design of the product.
