Roland Matzmohr studied mechanical engineering at the University of Rostock from 1980 to 1985 and received a diploma in February 1985. After that, he was a research student in the field of plant engineering (Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. U. Mittag), and in 1989 he received a PhD in the field of production control and control systems for the automated production of mixtures. From 1988 to 1992 he worked in the above-named field as an engineer for teaching and research. With the restructuring at the University of Rostock after 1990 and the new formation of the Faculty of Engineering, he joined the Institute for Environmental and Process Engineering in 1992. The areas of work in teaching and research were professionally coined by the responsible professors and changed accordingly with the appointment or emeritus of the professors for environmental technology and process technology / biotechnology. The main areas of work were: Water and sewage technology, renewable energies, thermal processes of environmental technology and environmental measurement technology. Since October 2015, Roland Matzmohr has been working in a professorship for Microfluidics.
